ULTRAsplice is a universal fiber optic mechanical splice for singlemode and multimode applications—specifically 125um clad applications. Works with buffersizer from 250um to 900um. Average loss is less than .2dBwith a fiber retention of over 2 lb.
Installing this mechanical splice is simple and no special tools are required. You simply cleave and insert the optical fibers, then while visibly checking the optical fiber location through the glass capillary of the mechanical splice, secure the fiber by twisting a locking nut.
